Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!! We wanted to share a little of our New Hampshire nativity with you. Please see the photo gallery. We wish that we were with all of you at this special time! WE love you so much!!
Friday was Alia's first birthday and a fun time was had by all. Hard to believe it was one year ago that we were tucked in the hospital on a foggy evening with Alia's bassinet in our room. Everyone says time flies as a parent but I don't think you can appreciate it until you are one... or as I like to say, time flies when you are changing poopy diapers. So much for my goal of potty training by one year old.
Alia had a fun birthday. We went and got her one year pictures taken which can be seen in the photo gallery. Although, I think she enjoyed her wrapping paper and balloon more than her toy. Oh, and the cupcake with frosting made a nice mess all over the highchair and kitchen :)
This site has been a long time in coming. I'm still kind of surprised that the domain helquist.com was still available after all this time. I guess I would have thought the demand for such a great name would have been higher ;).
I'm very excited about this and think it will be a good place for the family to communicate news, pictures, events, etc. That being said, one of the main reasons I hesitated to do this site is that I don't want it to be just pictures of Alia and my cats! I found some nice programs that will let everyone in the family update this site in a very easy manner (okay, pretty easy -- it takes a little adjusting. Instructions are on the way!).
Right now I have set up the site to be this news frontpage and the photo gallery. You can get to the gallery by clicking on the link to the right side. You will notice that there are individual photo albums set up for everyone. This means you have your very own spot to put up photos :)
Well, it's back to my classes for now. I'll try to get the instructions posted online sometime soon.
