Greetings everybody!
I just got done putting up some new photos in our gallery. Also, Mom was nice enough to send along photos from Jake's birthday as well as their recent trip to southern Utah. I put them up in Nan's gallery.
We are happy to report that Alia is over her pneumonia and Ashlyn is now over her flu, knock on wood. While Julie had Ashlyn in to the doctor the other day, Ashlyn weighed in at svelte 22 pounds. I think Jens has probably closed the weight gap already.
In other exciting news, Julie is no longer the only one getting called by their first name around here. Today Alia came up and gave me a "hey, Joel". Well, it was more of a "hey, Joe" but that's the best she can do. She is a very interesting 3 year old. She has also entered a stage where she tries to get us to feed her all of the time. She will sit at the table and holler for you to pick up her fork and feed her while she sits there. Strange... very strange, indeed. I'm guessing she must have been some sort of royalty in a previous life :)
We hope everyone is well and look forward to seeing some of you soon (or sorta soon)!
Greetings everyone. I just put up some new pictures (and two short video clips) in our March gallery.
Yesterday we decided to take a trip to the zoo. At the zoo, they had a deal where you could feed the giraffes. We decided that we needed to try that. They gave us some biscuits and we went on this platform to feed them. I put my hand right out with the first biscuit and the giraffe came in and ate it quite gracefully off my hand. The zoo lady told me to hold it further away next time so I could see their tongue. I shouldn't have listened to her. Next thing I know there is this foot long, slimey tongue coming straight at me to get the food. Despite getting all yucky, it was actually pretty cool. The tongue wrapped right around the food and plucked it away. Anyway, it was pretty cool. I highly recommend feeding giraffes if you get the chance. They are much nicer than the ostriches that Julie tried to feed a few weeks ago! Those guys are too intense for me. I value all ten of my digits :)
A week ago was the PGA Chrysler Open here in Tucson. I went out on Saturday and followed a threesome through all 18. Man, that was so cool. I had never watched pro golf in action and it was extremely entertaining.
Alia's new thing is to go hide whenever she hears the garage door open. Whenever I come home I have to go find her in the house. Friday I came home and she and Ashlyn were both at the table as I walked in the door. Alia had her hands over her eyes so that I couldn't see her!
